Because many ghost lovers specially search for houses for ghost hunting, staying the night in a haunted house. So as for each country for India too we separate houses form places.

On the night of every new moon a fort in India becomes a place of horror. Where local people often hear a sound "Uncle Save me" from the Fort in the new moon night. Where the spirit till now utters its last words of mortal life. This is The Shaniwarwada Fort in Pune.

Agrasen ki Baoli is a 104 red stoned steps water template. This is considered as the first form of step wells and water reservoirs. Visitors have felt something odd here. The well has dried out now. While going deeper inside the sounds totally vanish and the only you can hear the echo of our footsteps. According to history once it was filled with black water. The water magically mesmerized people to drive there and sacrifice their lives. Some people assert the Baoli is a residence of devils.

It has a very unique and strange type of haunted story. People have claimed to see the spirit of a woman sitting on the roof and others have added to see women wearing red clothes getting in and out of the house.

The well known National library of Kolkata is one of the known haunted houses of Kolkata. It was the residence of former Lieutenant Governor of Bengal. According to local folks Governor's wife can still be heard.

D'Souza Chawl, Mumbai, another haunted place in India

There is an another harmless Ghost in D'Souza Chawl in Mahim, Mumbai. A Chawl is a building up to 4-5 floors. D'Souza Chawl has a well inside its compound. The well was not having a boundary around it. One woman while getting water from that the soil around the well collapsed in too well with the lady and she died. It is repeated many times people saw the apparition of the unfortunate lady wanders around the well at late night and disappears before the dawn. "The lady of the well" did not harm anyone but though people are advised not to go towards the wall at night. Other than the ghost lady in white saree, many people mostly those are new to the D'Souza Chawl in Mumbai, have a sighting of a phantom night guard beside a fig tree near the haunted well. Mumbai is a city in India where out numbers of people come daily for their profession. Many new people come to Mumbai as well as this Chawl. It is unknown about the reason why the new comers see that perennial man beside the tree at night. Local people also support this incident but couldn't remember about any such guard from their memory.

Paranormal activities of the Vrindavan Society started after the suicide of a middle aged man in building no. 66B. The man jumped outside from the balcony and committed suicide. After that lots of abnormal weird things felt in the society. Many people in the society and the Guards patrolling on night complained several times about paranormal feelings.

Hastings house is the old residence of Governor general of India, believed as a haunted house too. It is said the spirit of Warren Hastings still haunts on specific nights for his belongings.

It is known that once a couple suicides there. after that lots of paranormal occurrences started. After that authority decided to close that floor for safety of residents.

Malcha Mahal is the large hunting lodge built by Feroz Shah Tughlaq in the 14th century. Just next to the Delhi Metro station and also known as Bistdari Mahal. After 1947 it became natioonal property but But Princess Wilayat Mahal continued legal fight for this. WHen she managed to wn again this property, she started a separated life from outer world with her son Prince Riaz and Princess Sakina and their dog. People rumoured about them a lot. On December 10, 1993 Begum Wilayat Mahal committed suicide. After her death, her two children couldn't bury her. The begum's body was placed on the study desk for 10 days. In the meantime, her children slept with her dead body too. Her daughter princess Sakina started wearing only black after Begum's death. On June 24th, 1994, anti-social attacked that place for imaginary treasure. They dug Begum Wilayat Mahal 's grave too. After that, the sibling dug begum's grave and burned their mother's body. Probably to save her body from being vandalized anymore.

A woman committed suicide at a building in Santacruz west, Mumbai. After that, she haunts the second floor of the building. After her death a dog came there and started to live in second floor. Nobody dare to take her name. She is known there as "Second floor ki Bhabi"

We have come to know another haunted apartment in Jogeshwari, Mumbai. The multi storey building seems very fine from outside. But the second floor is haunted by a spirit of a woman. One air hostess from a well known airline stayed there for a time. Unfortunately, she was murdered in her apartment. After some day of the gruesome happenings the company allocated another air-hostess for living there. Within few days some terrible paranormal sightings began with her. First the new girl started to hear uncanny noises. She felt all-time someone was watching her. Then one day after she had a terrible vision. One woman is weeping in the terrace. Then she saw the apparition is roaming all over the apartment.

In the movie a student in Engineering college wrote 'I quit' and left the world and never returned. In the Sinhagad college of Pune a similar story is there. In so much mental stress the boy committed suicide in the college. But after his death, he returned in the college premises. Students know in night the bereaved souls strolls in the campus.

The D'Mello's house is known for a ghost who killed by his own brother before some years. After his death the spirit haunts there. People in the area hear his screams and sound of arguments at night. Sometimes he breaks windows or throws something.

Many guests and hotel employees have noticed and reported about a ghostly apparition in the dimly lit corridors. The phantasmal presence usually seen checking something. Probably for if everything is in order. The ghost seems as thoughtful and having affection for every part of the hotel.

The gothic style memorial in front of Old Telegraph Building, Kashmiri Gate is known as Mutiny Memorial. Later it was renamed in 1972 as 'Ajitgarh'. This is dedicated to the official who died in the Indian mutiny in 1857. There are some rumours later, many dead bodies of British officials have found from the memorial. Dead officers' heads were separated from their bodies. Also, some people believed there tragedy repeats there in the form of some ghostly shadows sometime. It becomes spooky with those haunted souls.

A thief entered on the second floor of a house in Kundanbagh at night. Then what he saw that made a thief to call the police. Three women dead bodies lying on the bed. Mother and her two daughters. Police report says those decomposed corpses are at least 6 months old. But neighbours seen them almost daily. The family practiced black magic and usually wear black dresses. At midnight those witches walk around their home with a candle in their hands. Every day they used to carry their garbages in a car. But surprisingly, they lived without any electricity. Once the mother named 'Jayaprada', tried to attack with an axe towards local people. That incident of 2002 still remains as the unresolved mystery of Hyderabad.
